Hi and thanks for the compliment!

As for my routine...

Every day I either cowash, lowpoo, or use a shampoo bar. I always condition and use a Mebco detangler to evenly distribute my conditioner. I rinse out, flip upside down and scrunch in my styling products (typically a leave in or creme and gel for hold). I blot with a flour sack towel first and then follow up with a Curlease to make sure that my hair is no longer dripping. Flip right side up, get out of the shower and right into a plop with another flour sack. I plop for about 10 minutes - the time it takes me to finish the rest of my routine and then diffuse. I diffuse with a Sedusa to encourage the wave and a devafuser to get at my roots. I clip my roots and then finish drying under my hard hat. If I didn't diffuse or clip my roots, I'd never have any volume; the rare times I airdry, the weight of my hair pulls out my waves. Hope that helps!

I'm having major hair envy right now! :D I just started CG and stumbled across your blog. I was wondering what your mod-CG routine is, that is if you don't mind sharing? :]

I hear you on this one!!! I did a lot of experimenting last Winter and then again over the Summer, I got burnt out. Now that Fall is here I'm experimenting a little big again, but it does get tiring with one failed experiment after another. Luckily for me, a lot of my PJ'ism has been cured due to so many ingredients that I'm sensitive to!

Take a break for a while it's OK ;)

Glad to see you tried my method and had at least some success with it. Sorry more success seems to be alluding you.

I am working on a demonstration video; perhaps it will help.

Take care,

TheraNeem is awesome -- glad you like it! And thanks for the reminder about using AVG under a gel. I haven't done that in ages and forgot about how much I liked it!

I'm not sure. I did a little googling of the ingredients and read that potassium chloride is a thickening agent. Now, I know that isn't bad in and of itself but maybe the fact that it's so high up on the list contributes to the gunky feeling?

I use the HA like a moisturizer. I spritz my face with water after applying antioxidants or acids and apply about 1/2 dime's worth mixed with either a skincare oil or moisturizer.

Interesting. Do you have any theories about why these two conditioners react so differently on your hair?

When I first started CO-washing, yeah, I thought Suave = V05. Not true, and not all V05 conditioners are created equal! I get the best results from the Calming Chamomile Tea Nourishing conditioner: bouncy, defined waves with the right amount of moisture.
